What started with two suburbanites lost on the back roads turned into a 20-year love affair
with the beautiful and ever-surprising Perth Hills. This collection of short stories about
enterprising bandicoots, predatory possums, and the biggest spiders outside a nightmare
will amuse and entertain readers of all ages.
Reader Review by Rita Toews:
I opened my mailbox today and found a jewel - my copy of A Tree in Mundaring.
Short stories are appealing because the reader can read for a short while and then set the book
aside - right? Not with this amazing collection of short stories by Karen Treanor! I sat
and read...and read...and read -- even when I should have been preparing supper for my family.
Well-crafted word pictures flowed from the pages - bandicoots, chocks, parrots, bobtails - all up to antic
which brought a smile, and often a chuckle out loud.
A delightful read! Ms. Treanor is a talented author and her book, A Tree in Mundaring, is well
worth purchasing. It would make a wonderful gift for someone.
